Lake Texoma Information |
Lake Texoma is a fisherman's dream. Located on the Texas-Oklahoma border, Texoma is the premier Striped Bass lake in the country. Denison Dam made history when it was completed in 1944. The dam itself is an earth embankment nearly 3 miles long and 165 feet above the riverbed. By damming up the confluence of two mighty rivers, the Red River and the Washita River, the 90,000 acre lake named Texoma was born. This grand lady has 580 miles of shoreline. Texoma has more than 7 million visitors each year, making her one of the nation's most popular playgrounds. Today, Texoma has more than 7,000 powerboats and sailing yachts berthed at 24 marinas. And with many restaurants, resorts, and campgrounds, golf courses and other facilities, there really is very little of anything in the way of recreational attractions that Texoma doesn't offer.
The Striped Bass is the fish the majority of fisherman opt for on our trips. Stripers were stocked in Texoma over 20 years ago. We received our original Stripers from the Santee-Cooper reservoirs in South Carolina. Today, Texoma is considered the number one Striper lake in the nation. With the liberal limit (10 fish per person) and the best documented natural reproduction, Texoma's reputation for excellent fishing goes unrivaled. It has everything, both Large and Small-mouth Bass, world renowned record Blue Catfish and the best Striped Bass fishing in the world because the two rivers that give the fish plenty of forage fish for the game varieties.
